There are quite a number of ways business owners have used TwitWall for their businesses. For those unfamiliar, TwitWall is a 3rd party Twitter app that lets Twitter users create blogs quickly and easily. A number of businesses have used it to post misc event schedules, news and announcements, and even training videos related to their businesses. Often there are content relevant to their biz, but have no place in their formal static websites. TwitWall is SEO friendly which is great for getting more publicity and links to biz websites.

@mecarluen I want to revisit an early thing you mentioned. In being the creator of TwitWall, what are some different ways that business owners are using it?

As I mentioned earlier, I consider 365labs as an idea incubation company, and not just a web app development firm. Having said that, in addition to programming the application, we put our past experience in product marketing, user-experience, product monetization, to work for our clients. Again, it goes beyond the 1000’s of lines of code a freelance developer might consider for his or her deliverables.

@mecarluen What’s the advantage to a business owner of dealing with a company such as your, versus just hiring a freelance developer?

Perhaps the best way is using the old fashioned method of word-of-month recommendations… then visit their portfolio of products they have built. Quite often, any savvy web users, but who are not developers themselves, have their favorite applications. You can contact them for references. It is likely however that they are developers themselves.

@mecarluen Let’s say a business owner has an idea for a web-based application, how does a business owner go about getting one created?

If you are having your product developed by a freelance developer or a development company, the one thing to keep in mind is that you have to remain true to your idea and your vision of your product. Anything is possible… this means, given a clear vision, anything can be coded and built, and don’t let any developer tell you its not “doable”. Limitations are built only by lack of knowledge/expertise to certain areas. Some of the products developed by 365labs include TwitWall, XLTweet, FAQLog, and others that my clients own.
