@BizCoachJason Avoiding burnout for us entrepreneurs is key:

1.) Create your vision fully – List all the details, all the motivators and consequences of not attaining the vision
2.) Strategize your actions and make sure they are inspired actions – Productivity steps that energize and excite you. Don’t get bogged down with the little things that you don’t really enjoy. There is no one way to accomplish something; there are usually MANY ways. Work with someone to find out what those are, and how to get them done.
3.) Surround yourself with positive people and minimize time with energy draining people.
4.) Take time for yourself everyday, or in crunch time, at the very least every week. Do those things that relax you – read the morning paper in peace, have a cup of tea on the patio, walk, jog or bike for 30 minutes. Take a little time out of your day to refresh your mind and body. For me, bike riding on long trails is when I get the most relaxation, a good workout and fantastic business brainstorming, energy and motivation!

And lastly, don’t go it alone. Work with others and get outside support. You’re not in it alone, and everyone benefits when we work together.

@BizCoachJason You have shared some really good ideas. One last questions. How can an entrepreneur avoid burnout and still become very successful with limited time, money and resources?

@BizCoachJason @kimbeasley Kim, that’s a great question. There are several things small business owners can do to stay focused and productive.

One is the good old system of writing daily goals. What are the most important and prioritize them. Tackle the hardest, most procrastination-filled one first, etc.

I like to write mine at night, so I can get them out of my head, into my Outlook Task List and that also helps me to get better sleep at night, because I don’t have all these loose ends rattling around when I need to relax and sleep.

@BizCoachJason For busy business owners, sometimes it’s hard to stay focused and on target. Do you have any suggestions or tips that would help them stay focused and productive throughout the day?

@BizCoachJason I believe that #networking, #marketing and #sales are all branches of the same tree. I also know that many people shy away from and have confidence issues with those three areas, because they don’t want to be pushy, annoying, or overbearing when it comes to #networking, #marketing and #sales.

The point of networking is to make connections, start and build relationships and get your message out. I feel the best way to do this has two components:
    - Give a very short, lasered “elevator pitch” or tagline when people ask what you do, one that is carefully crafted and practiced, but also genuine.
    - Find ways to be of as much help to your networking partners as possible. The sooner you can do this in your first meeting, the better their perception of you will be, and the closer your relationship will be from the start.

These are areas that I love helping entrepreneurs and sales folks figure out and really get very good at. It’s not as easy as it sounds, and most of our elevator pitches are constantly evolving and improving if we work hard and smart on them.

@BizCoachJason When it comes to delivering your vision while networking with others, what are some creative ways that business owners can get their messages out? In a way where they brand themselves easily?

@BizCoachJason Vision is born from our wants, our long-term goals, what kind of legacy we want to leave, and how we want to live our lives and do business. A right way to go about developing that is to think about those questions and find the answers that really inspire you. What would make you VERY happy? How do you want to be spending you time – both personal and work time? And who do you want to be around, again – both personally and professionally?

Though I don’t know that there is really a “wrong way” to build your vision other than to not work on it at all, most people don’t focus on the long-term and don’t spend the necessary time to fill in all the details of their ideal vision. These details are very important because they help us create the inspired and specific actions steps that are required to fulfill the vision.
