@BizCoachJason I believe that #networking, #marketing and #sales are all branches of the same tree. I also know that many people shy away from and have confidence issues with those three areas, because they don’t want to be pushy, annoying, or overbearing when it comes to #networking, #marketing and #sales.
The point of networking is to make connections, start and build relationships and get your message out. I feel the best way to do this has two components:
- Give a very short, lasered “elevator pitch” or tagline when people ask what you do, one that is carefully crafted and practiced, but also genuine.
- Find ways to be of as much help to your networking partners as possible. The sooner you can do this in your first meeting, the better their perception of you will be, and the closer your relationship will be from the start.
These are areas that I love helping entrepreneurs and sales folks figure out and really get very good at. It’s not as easy as it sounds, and most of our elevator pitches are constantly evolving and improving if we work hard and smart on them.
